Dampfzentrale Bern is a meeting place for innovative, contemporary forms of performance, dance and music. In the wonderful ambience of the former industrial site on the banks of the river Aare, audiences can enjoy a truly exceptional cultural experience. As a presentation venue, we stage guest performances and concerts of a broad range of genres and styles. The arts center at the river is an interactive breeding ground for artists: Every day, artists spend time rehearsing here, exchanging ideas with each other and with audiences.

The festivals Tanz in Bern, Full of Lava (f.k.a Saint Ghetto), since 2022, EXPOP are highlights of the cultural calendar in the city.

Fundraising and Partnerships (mandate approx. 20%)

Start date 01.07.2024 or another date to be agreed upon

We are looking for a committed person with a passion for culture who has proven knowledge in the field of fundraising and experience in writing grant applications. You will be jointly responsible for strategic planning of our fundraising activities and will prepare the dossiers in close collaboration with the persons responsible for the artistic programme. Writing and submitting final reports to the funding bodies is also a part of your job description. Coordination within the team is easy for you and you are interested in being the contact person for the various partners of Dampfzentrale Bern. You enjoy maintaining and further developing the network that has been successfully built over the last few years and thus helping to shape the future of Dampfzentrale.

What we expect from you

Interest and pleasure in creating extensive fundraising dossiers in the fields of dance, performance, music and transdisciplinary projects
Experience in foundation fundraising and in the area of travel grants
Good and stylistically confident expression in German
Confident handling of numbers for the preparation of project budgets
Interest in developing Dampfzentrale’s fundraising and sponsorship strategy further
The ability to think interconnectedly
Organisational flair with the ability to plan ahead

An existing network in the field of foundation fundraising

The position is advertised as a contract of mandate with an annual working hours commitment of approx. 20% and is compensated with CHF 20,000 to 25,000. It is also possible to enter into employment with Dampfzentrale if need be.
